Schwäbisch-Gmünd, July 6, 2023 – GRAU DATA announces an update of the ransomware protection Blocky for Veeam®. From now on, the solution is additionally available with a new service for the distribution of volume-based licenses. This optional component makes it possible, especially for large backup infrastructures with numerous servers and backup repositories, to distribute the licenses flexibly across the systems. Changes to the backup server volumes, for example by adding additional repositories or adjusting storage sizes, are automatically taken into account during licensing and no longer require manual intervention. The well-known simple management for small and medium environments remains in the offer. The licensing price for Blocky for Veeam® is based on the total capacity of the backup drive and is almost insignificant compared to the cost of a successful ransomware attack.
Blocky for Veeam® – the last line of defense against ransomware

Classic protection mechanisms are being overcome by cybercriminals and companies are suffering millions in damages due to the encryption of their data and backups. Blocky for Veeam® from GRAU DATA is the solution that reliably protects NTFS/ReFS backup volumes from encryption by ransomware or other administrator-level manipulations. The basis of this very easy-to-implement protection solution is the GRAU DATA WORM technology, which has been tried and tested for many years. This consistently prevents any data manipulation by ransomware. For backup operations, only the Veeam® backup software is allowed access to the backup data via the unique and secure fingerprint authentication procedure. All other delete and write access, especially by malware, is consistently prevented.
